Congressional Calendar and Election Campaigns
Hey everyone, I just wanted to talk to you about the congressional calendar.
So here's something that is crazy.
It's crazy to me, it always has been, but if you notice the House,
this is for the House of Representatives,
it is now August and they will not be at work in Washington DC
literally until that little orange square there on August 31st.
So they have already gone home,
they're back at home campaigning,
raising money,
you know, going around to all the district events and GOP meetings and they're asking for your vote.
Democrats are doing the same thing, they're campaigning,
raising money,
going around to their events and asking for people's votes.
So they're solely focused on getting re-elected.
Now what you need to know about this calendar right here, this is 2026 House calendar,
every single election year this is pretty much what the calendar looks like.
Whether it's Republican or Democrat controlled, this is what it looks like.
Now I want to point out something important.
There's only eight full working days until the November 3rd election
and why you're saying, no there's more days Marjorie, no I'm going to explain it.
The first day of the week, so if you look at August 31st, that's a fly-in day and on fly-in days
we only voted at 6 30 p.m. So
then they go to work, they have two full work days, the first and the second, then September 3rd is a fly-out day.
So that means Congress will vote around 10 o'clock in the morning
and then everybody's gonna haul butt to the airport because they got to get out of town, get back home and get back to campaigning.
So if you look at the calendar, the middle days of the week like the first and the second,
the 15th and 16th, the 23rd, the 24th and the 29th and 30th of September,
those are only full working days.
And let me tell you, those days get packed.
You wanna know why? Because there's committee hearings, there's a bunch of meetings, there's conference meetings, and then it just gets crazy.
So do you think they're really gonna get much done for the rest of the year until election time?
No, they're not.
And it's ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous.
So I wanted to explain that to you guys.
So notice here, Congress will not be at work all of August.
They will barely be at work in September, and they won't be focused on getting anything done that's important, holding anyone accountable like Anthony Fauci or anyone else accountable.
They're not gonna be doing that.
They're in election mode only.
Whatever will help them win on November 3rd.
Now, October, they are gonna be gone.
They're gonna be back out. You're gonna have mailers in your mailbox.
You're gonna get those text messages that drive you nuts.
You're gonna have emails in your email box, and then they're gonna be trying to do everything they can to earn your vote.
But here's what you need to know, basically, is this is how Congress always works.
Election years, August and October,
they are not in Washington.
The only thing that will be different is non-election years.
They'll be in session a little bit more in October.
Because they're not having to get re-elected in November.
So that's the difference, and I think it's really important for you to understand
how your taxpayer-funded representatives,
when they work and when they don't work, and why nothing works.
Nothing ever works in Washington, D.C.
Okay, quick explainer video for you guys.
You can definitely share it with your friends so that everybody understands why Congress really doesn't work.
