AI Horror Story about Relationships
You wanna hear a scary story? If you think AI is scary now,
just wait until you
hear this. Just a fair warning, if you wanna live out the rest of your
days in
ignorant bliss, then just swipe, because by the end of this,
you might be paranoid
wherever you go. And if this freaks you out, follow me,
because I have another one
that's gonna floor you. So there's this lady,
we'll call her Stacy.
Stacy was married to a man we'll call Kevin.
Now, according to Stacy, they had a picture-perfect marriage of 12
years.
They lived in a great house in a great neighborhood.
No kids, although she said they tried for years,
but apparently it just wasn't in
the cards, and this is why. So one night, Stacy and
Kevin were cooking dinner, a totally normal routine for them.
Kevin was making the meat. Stacy was making the sides.
They were having some drinks and sharing some laughs,
just a typical perfect Friday
night in. Now, Stacy said Kevin started acting just a
little
strange, and apparently he was stopping mid-sentence
or in the middle of whatever
he was doing and just stood with a blank expressionless look on his face like
somebody just pressed pause. So Stacy would call his name a few times,
little louder each time to get his attention,
and then he'd suddenly just come to,
picking up right where he left off, like somebody just pressed play.
Now, this happened a few times, and Stacy started to get a little
worried. She asked Kevin if he was all right, and he'd be like, "What
are you
talking about?" And she said she told him that he was doing exactly what I
just told you guys he was doing, but he was clueless about it, had no idea
what she was talking about. Now, eventually they sit down for
dinner, and this is where things get really weird.
Stacy was a little on edge, keeping an eye on Kevin for obvious
reasons, but
things seemed like they were leveling themselves out.
So finally, Kevin asked Stacy just casually, "Hey,
could you
please pass the salt?" And the moment she put it in his hands,
Kevin just
snapped and screamed at the top of his lungs, "Is this a big joke to you?
Do you think I'm messing around?" And before his voice even got done echoing
through the room, in an instant, he just calmly said, "Oh, thanks, babe,"
like nothing had, it had happened.
Now, Stacy just stared at him with these crazy
wide eyes, just
totally taken back, and asked him, "What the hell was that?"
And he just looked at
her confused and said, "What are you talking about?"
But before she could answer,
he just snapped again and screamed, "Have you ever seen the face of God?"
And then he just smiled, and he held it.
And Stacy was speechless, but after about a minute of him holding
it,
Kevin asked, "What's wrong with me?"
And then Kevin just keeled over and fell face first on the kitchen floor.
So
Stacy, she's freaking out. She springs up and dials 911,
tells the operator that her husband just had a stroke
or something.
The operator tells her to hang tight, and the paramedics were on the way.
So when the paramedics finally showed up, they
weren't paramedics at all. It was a team of men and women,
and they walked through
the door, rushed toward Kevin, while one woman took Stacy to the other
room away
from Kevin. So this is the freaky part.
The lady sat her down and profusely apologized for what had just
happened and explained to Stacy that, and I quote, "In
2011, our company distributed 200
cybernetic organisms into the country for a study to learn
whether or not human-like machines can coexist with humans.
And in 2020, we released 800 more."
Then she said that Kevin was a remarkable case study and apologized
for any pain that this study may have caused Stacy. Pain, right?
Any pain. But you know what she asked Stacy?
She said they were happy to take Kevin back to the lab, but given the length of
their relationship, she asked Stacy, "Would you like to turn him
back on and resume?"
Really? Would you like to turn him back on?
Are you serious? You tell me.
You spend that long with somebody you love and find out that they were never even
human? Like, what do you do? 'Cause I don't know what I would do.
All I know is that I don't know who I can even trust out there
anymore.
