Transformasi Pusat Latihan Carrington Manchester United
Carrington is the home of our football teams at Manchester United.
Built from Sir Alex's vision in 2000,
it's been the foundation of some of the most important and successful periods.
Over the years, it's changed and grown.
18 months ago, we decided to evolve it further
as we raised standards and returned the club back to success.
So we asked ourselves, what does a world-class training facility look like?
What kind of culture do we want?
And what's the latest tech that our players could use?
You know, there were lots of different people who were involved in the planning and design.
The players, the manager, I think everyone was consulted.
We talked about the players' journey, so that was a really important aspect.
When they first arrive at the training ground,
it's important that they meet various people.
So, for instance, player care, player well-being, the nutritionists.
And to bring a great vision to life, you need a world-class partner.
The brief from the club was really about performance
and about a new culture for the space.
So the first thing we did was strip the building right back
to actually see what we could work with.
It was a fantastic collaboration.
We had great ideas and they had creative solutions.
I think one of the key factors is increasing glass facades,
making better visual connectivity to the spaces around them,
ensuring that the staff and the players always can see the pictures around them.
This environment of feeling like a family and, you know, performing like a team,
that's important that the players have a facility that they can prepare properly.
We consulted some of the world's leading experts
to make sure that we've got the tools to help our players reach their best.
Ruben is over the moon with it.
I think, you know, both Ruben and I have played before
and we understand that facilities are only one part of it.
It's the environment and it's the culture
and it's the feel that you get with the players, the camaraderie,
you know, the noise that you hear at lunchtime, at breakfast.
These are the things that should give you a good sign.
We now have a building for the people who make this club move.
It's accessible, it's integrated, it's collaborative, it's designed for connection.
I mean, I'm sat in the staff restaurant, Ruben and his staff are here,
the club staff are over here.
The design for the office space was about
really making better connectivity across the building,
flooding it with natural daylight, using natural materials
and really focusing on performance in a collegiate environment,
creating visual connectivity from the interior to the exterior.
There are improved spaces that welcome our friends in the media and our partners.
Alongside the newly refurbished facilities for our academy and women's teams,
this building now serves as the innovative heart of a new Carrington.
I think it's just super exciting just to see the staff coming in,
the players, the reaction to the space
and I think it really creates a great framework
for the future of the club training here at Carrington.
With the belief and input from across the club,
we've delivered the first physical landmark of our future,
but we know it's only the start.
Carrington was always designed to evolve
and it will continue to do so.
