Why does Kimi Antonelli’s success remind us of Juventus’s failure?

Kimi Antonelli became the first Italian Formula One world champion in 73 years.

And overall, Italy is enjoying one of its greatest eras in sports.

You’ve got Jannik Sinner leading the way in tennis, and Antonelli became world champion with Mercedes.

And now this Italian- German combo is present in football too.

Just as Antonelli found a German company to back him and become the youngest Formula One world champion, there are talents like Luca Reggiani and Samuel Inacio who decided to join a German club to develop their talents and make them global stars.

But the question is, why did Antonelli decide to drive for Mercedes when there’s a company called Ferrari in Italy?

The answer is that Ferrari had the chance to sign him, but they said he was only 11 and far too young, so they passed.

The largest stake in Ferrari is owned by Exor.

Exor is owned by the Agnelli family, currently headed by John Elkann, And they currently own Juventus.

Just as Acer missed out on Antonelli in motor racing, they missed out on many opportunities in football.

They had a group of talented players at their disposal in the Next Gen project, Juventus's reserve team, and instead of those players representing the first team, they went off to play all over Europe.

There's Dean Huijsen, Real Madrid's star, and Tarik Muharemović, Leeds United's new star, Matías Soulé, one of Roma's best attacking players, De Winter, Milan's defender, and Samuel Mbangula, the only one to beat the Rossoneri in the league this season,

when he scored a hat trick against them.

Not to mention Nicolò Savona, Radu Drăgușin, and Giovanni D'Avra.

And it's not necessarily true that these names would have succeeded with the Old Lady.

There are some names I'm not convinced by at all, but the point is, these players never got a full or genuine chance at the club.

I mean, Juve spends huge sums every year on players, most of whom fail, There are stars under his wing who need to be seen and given a chance.

It’s great that you can poach talent like Kenan Yıldız and Karim Yabigović, but the question is, how many minutes do you give your next- gen players in the first team?

What are you waiting for? For you to sell them so we can sit around and cry over them like we cried over the ones before?
