English transcript
Excuse me, where are you from?
I'm from Ukraine.
If I wanted to move to Ukraine, would it be easy to make money there?
It's difficult to explain because it really depends on what you're doing.
What's the minimum wage like back home?
Since the war started, it's all different so far, so I cannot really say for sure.
Are there actually safe parts of Ukraine that you could go back to and visit?
Not really, it's not really safe.
As somebody from there, what's like the day-to-day?
Well, it's difficult just to live there.
Any minute, something can happen any moment.
It is just difficult from day-to-day.
You don't know if you wake up tomorrow.
Would you still have access to food and those types of things or no?
Yeah, but there are also people who cannot afford it.
Do you have family back in Ukraine?
I do.
How do you handle dealing with the situation now?
Fine, thank you.
Support each other.
That's the reason I'm here because, again, working here because
there is barely something in Ukraine you can find to earn money.
So I'm here with my father to help my family back there.
So you and your dad are working and sending money back home?
Yes, because it's not enough to live there, to have some kind of job in there,
because now you don't have so many offers.
That's the only option, just to go somewhere abroad and earn money.
So how do you find happiness, knowing that the situation is not the best?
Well, they are alive. I'm still in touch with them.
So we have phones, Internet connection, so we can talk to each other,
support each other, so that's what keeps me on going.
Do you think that war really solves anything or does it just cause more harm?
Well, I'm not the best in those kinds of questions.
I just really hope it all will soon be over.
And I just wish peace all over the world, just peace.
