Tell me why that World Cup changed Kansas forever, bro.
They started partying with Algerians and was like, "Wait, y'all aren't that bad. This is lit."
And they voted blue, bro. And I'm convinced that the World Cup brought political change to America, 'cause the way Kansas was partying with Algerians this past summer, there was no going back.
They probably had some hummus and baklava so good they had to hit them polls for some cultural peace.
Man, football is the world's game for a reason.
Who remembers this moment from the 2026 World Cup?
So I wanna say thank you to Team Algeria for choosing our hometown, Lawrence, Kansas, to come here.
And, uh, so welcome. Welcome to United States.
Welcome to Kansas. I have a theory. I think the 2026 World Cup might have played a tiny role in what happened in the 2026 midterm elections.
I'm not saying soccer changed an election.
Obviously, there were much bigger issues from the economy, to healthcare, the war in Iran, and just general feelings about the president.
But here are four reasons why I think that the World Cup might have had a small, almost subconscious, political impact.
Number one, Americans actually met the world.
Take Lawrence, Kansas. The town basically adopted Algeria.
People welcomed the team, they learned their national anthem, and celebrated an entirely different culture.
I wonder how many Americans had experiences like that over the summer, whether it be actually in person or seeing clips of other people having that experience, like the interview I showed at the beginning of the video.
It's so easy to have an opinion about people that you've never met, but it's a lot different when you're cheering alongside them.
