Seeing Yourself in a Non-Reversing Mirror and the Towel Mirror Puzzle

Okay, come a little closer. Okay, yeah, so this is the first time you're seeing yourself without being reversed.

That's so strange. Like, it really just, it feels like that is somebody else in the mirror right there moving, not me at all.

That's so cool. Isn't that crazy? That's crazy.

Did you build this? Yeah. That's me. And here's the thing, look in this mirror.

This is what you normally see. Yeah, it's right there. Right?

Oh, and then it bounces. Yeah, it's two mirrors bouncing off each other.

That's so... Thank you, Tom. But here, but here's, here's the thing that's really cool.

When you make eye contact this way, for the first time your eyes are actually positioned properly, and because of it, they actually communicate properly.

That's kinda creepy. That's like, that's really...

Well, that's weird. I can talk to you this way.

Like, yeah, like look- looking at you. Like, I was looking at me, and now looking at you, that's- This is how we are ... that's really cool.

Look to your own eyes right now. That's so cool. But look to your eyes right now.

I know it's creepy, but the version of you that you are- That everyone else- ... as, as a person, not just as a body.

That's really neat. Look in this way, and look what happens to your eyes after a couple seconds.

Come back to the side.

They cross. If you stay, if you stay with them more than a couple seconds- Right ... they tend to start staring.

Like, there's no expression in your face right now.

And that's the version you've seen your whole life.

The communication is, gets broken down. That's crazy. It's not really you.

See? When you were talking to me, your life came up, but within a couple of seconds it goes away backwards.

That's, that's, that's scary, actually- Yeah ... to think that we talk to ourselves all the time like that.

Without that communication in the eyes- Yeah ... that's natural.
