No way. No way. You are so missing out if you've never seen this before.
99% of the time, when the Bible mentions the sea, it is also talking about judgment.
In the days of Noah, how did God judge the whole world?
He judged it with water. When God parted the Red Sea to save the Israelites, how did He judge the pursuing Egyptians?
He judged them by the sea. When Jonah runs away from God, how is God's wrath displayed?
It is displayed through a stormy sea. And then, when Jonah is thrown into the ocean, suddenly the sea goes calm, showing us that God's judgment has been satisfied.
In Daniel's end times prophecy, he sees four beasts rise out of the sea, which represents four kingdoms which the Lord God will judge.
Okay, but it's time I introduce to you the plot twist of the century.
Do you remember when the Lord Jesus Christ walked on the Sea of Galilee?
What was He trying to show us? He was trying to show us that He was above judgment because He is morally perfect.
Peter, however, was not sinless, so when he walked out on water to meet the Lord Jesus Christ, he was safe as long as he trusted in Christ.
But the moment he took his eyes off the Lord Jesus Christ is the moment he sank back down into judgment.
But if that blew your mind, listen to this.
Revelation 21:21 says, "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more." Wow.
So is the Bible saying that in heaven there'll be no huge expanses of water?
I don't think so. But what I do think it's saying is, in heaven, there'll be no more judgment. Why?
Because there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
